Arlan was a full time hang gliding
instructor. He began flying hang gliders in
1987, and started Hangglide Chicago in
1999.
A large number of local pilots owe their
flying skills to Arlan. Arlan is no
longer with us, But, his memory will live
with us and his spirit will guide us
forever.

Nick Scholtes -
Powered Paraglider Instructor |

Nick Scholtes comes to us from Joliet, Ill.
and has been instructing individuals in both
PG and PPG along with PPG Trikes. He
is a USPPA PPG3 rated PPG pilot, USPPA
Instructor, USPPA Instructor Administrator,
and holds a USHGA P3 rating. Nick
along with being an FAA certified Commercial
and Instrument Rated pilot is also an EAA
Ultralight Flight Instructor. With
over 2000+ hours in PG and PPG, he has
accumulated over 500 hours in Tandem PPG's.
Nick will be an experienced addition of the
Hang Glide Chicago instructors.

"Paradrome PPG" in Joliet, Il.

We are proud to announce that Danny Hartowicz and Mike Van Kuiken
have become CERTIFIED instructors. We will be happy to
announce the day when THEY will be able to offer Full Hang gliding
instruction to those who are interested.
Also we have listed Nick Scholtes as an
experienced PPG instructor. Nick comes to us from his own
school, "Paradrome PPG" in Joliet, Il. Nick is an EAA
Basic Flight Instructor, USPPA instructor. and holds a USHPA P4
rating and offers training in both PPG, and PPG Trikes...
HGC welcomes the experience that these pilots and instructors
