At Hang Glide Chicago we pride ourselves on teaching you to
hang glide whether you take one lesson or purchase an entire lesson package. When
your tandem lesson is over you will have flown a hang glider most of the
flight. Our tandem instructors will make sure your flight is safe and smooth.
We only instruct during optimal flying conditions. Our aero towing approach to hang
gliding assures that you will get the most out of each lesson and learn the sport
quickly. Many students are able to fly on their own after only a few lessons.
As you gain experience you can choose more and more challenging conditions to fly in with
the instructors guidance. In one tandem lesson from 3,000 feet you will have more air time
then you would in weeks of hill training. |

Lesson Packages
 | Introductory Tandem Lesson $145
|
The Introductory Tandem Lesson is for the person experiencing hang gliding
for the first time and gives you a broad overview of the sport. You will leave
you with a sense of wonderment and begin your journey to becoming three dimensional with a
slow descent from 3000 feet in our tandem hang glider with an instructor.
| Beginner Tandem Lesson $360

The Beginner Tandem Lesson package is a 3 tandem lesson package that will
show the you just how easy hang gliding is having performed many of the maneuvers
proficiently under an instructors guidance. Caution: this package is addictive and often
gets people hooked. Luckily, an upgrade to the full lesson package is available.
| Full Lesson Package $1440

Full Lesson Package includes 16 tandem lessons(8 tandems to 3000 feet + 8
tandems to 1000 feet) , 6 solo lessons and 8 hours of ground school. If you want to become
a hang glider pilot and soar with the eagles, touch a cloud and see the world
three-dimensionally this is the ticket. You probably will not need all the tandem flights
so you can use them for advanced training, credit toward solo flights or give one to a
friend. Once you complete this lesson plan you will find yourself in an exclusive club of
individuals who have seen the world with a birds eye view and truly know the feeling of
flight.
All lesson plans include use of all equipment required, are upgradeable so
you can take a taste before you decide if you want it all. Student and group discounts are

| Arlan Birkett
Arlan is a full time hang gliding instructor. He began flying hang gliders in
1987.

| Steve Rewolinski
Steve started flying in 1991 and has been an instructor since 1996. He is a very
active competition pilot, flying in many local and national competitions.

| We're close to Chicago and less than an hour from most Western suburbs.
You don't have to wait for the weekend and drive 2-3 hours out of state to take your
lessons. Come on out weeknights after a long day at work and enjoy some country
hospitality. There are several excellent restaurants on the way to HGC in Sandwich,
Sheridan or Newark IL. If you have more time, spend the night in one of several camping
sites nearby or on the field.
